Lampung Governor Supports Environmentally Responsible Industrial Development Initiated by PT Solusi Maknah Indonesia
The Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, welcomed and encouraged the plan to develop an environmentally-friendly industrial area initiated by PT Solusi Maknah Indonesia (PT SMI). This support was conveyed when the Governor received the management team of PT SMI in his office at the Lampung Governor’s Office on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Daichi Ikegami, President Director of PT Solusi Maknah Indonesia, explained that his company is interested in investing in Lampung after attending the Lampung Economic Investment Forum (LEIF) in Jakarta. He stated that Lampung’s development vision aligns with the company’s commitment to advancing green industry and renewable energy.

He said PT SMI plans to utilize agricultural and plantation waste that has been discarded or burned in fields, and instead process it into a source of energy. This waste will be bought directly from farmers to help increase their income and provide additional economic value.
“We see great potential in Lampung for the development of renewable energy, especially from agricultural and plantation waste,” Ikegami said. He emphasized that processing this waste not only reduces carbon emissions, but also produces controlled, sustainable energy.

In addition to agricultural waste processing, PT SMI is preparing a number of key projects, including:
- Solar power generation plants
- Hydropower generation plants
- Geothermal energy facilities
- Converting palm oil mill effluent into biogas
- Development of a modern environmentally friendly industrial area
These projects are aimed at supporting the transition to clean energy and strengthening Lampung’s modern industrial ecosystem.
Ikegami also noted that the green industry initiative is expected to create new job opportunities. Besides purchasing waste from farmers and plantation workers, the company is committed to hiring local personnel in renewable energy technology positions.
Governor Mirza said the Lampung Provincial Government supports investments that prioritize environmental sustainability, improve community welfare, and create employment opportunities. He added that the government will support this plan through policy backing, cross-sector coordination, and institutional support in accordance with applicable regulations.
